Hello all,

I see there is an Ebay auction today for a metal-rich diogenite for about $30/g. I
thought with the last go around with NWA 1827, 1879 and 1882 that a metal rich
diogenite did not exist and that these were all classified as MES-C's that sell
for about $10 to $25/g, depending on the number and source. Now it looks like
one University has gone ahead and called a newer find a metal rich diogenite. I
did note that this new "diogenite" find, NWA-3106, has about 11% metal, and that
the MES-C's have been found to have about 10% metal in them. From my simple
minded perspective, we are still looking at the same orthopyroxene/metal rich
material.

Are there any other comments about this new find and its classification versus
the others?

BTW...I love the pieces I have of the MES-C's. To me it is one of the coolest
meteorites out there.

John
