Through Roof

     CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) - A meteorite, nearly six inches long and four
inches wide, fell through the roof of Jack Steven' garage. Stevens thought
it was just a rock and was about to throw it out when sheriff's officers
persuaded him to call experts.
     Scientists from the American Meteorite Laboratory in Denver confirmed
that the rock was a meteorite.
     Part of the meteorite will be sent to the Smithsonian Institution in
Washington and other pieces will be given to the United States Geological
Survey.
