Making the announcement were Dr. Frederick C. Leonard, professor of astronomy at the University of California at Los Angeles, and Dr. and Mrs. H. H. Nininger of the Colorado Museum of Natural History. The minute meteorites were found as the result of dragging alnico magnets through a number of ant hills near Holbrook, Ariz. In the process evidence were discovered that falling meteorites are accompanied usually by showers of meteoritic dust and sand-like particles, which, according to the scientists, may mark the beginning of a "new and important" phase in the study of meteorites.
