Minor Planet Circular 52771 issued on September 28, 2004
announced the naming of Asteroid 84225 after my friend,
Bob Verish. Robert Matson discovered the asteroid from
NEAT images. Excerpt from the MPC is appended below.

(84225) Verish = 2002 RO236

Disocoverd 2002 Sept. 12 by R. Matson on NEAT images taken at Palomar.

Geologist Robert S. Verish (b. 1947), an engineering contractor for the
Jet Propulsion Laboratory, is an experienced meteor observer and
meteorite-recovery expert. He has found over 100 meteorites in California,
Nevada and Arizona, including the "Los Angeles" shergottite - the
fourteenth recognized meteorite from Mars.
