Good luck. Had a great day of networking in the area. Lots of eye witness reports of the fireball that occured this morning at 2:40 am. Unfortunately a lot of the people that saw the event were driving North and South on Interstate 5 and are long gone now and can't be reached for their account of what was seen. We are trying hard to triangulate ground zero. Based on the security films, reports from all over the Northwest of the Bolide, sonic booms and the smell of sulfur, there is a good chance that material made it to the ground. But it has been a warm dry Spring season this year and the grass is high. In fact farmers are already cutting their hay and fields were being plowed under as we drove by looking for another place to stop and talk to locals. It will be great if soon someone goes out to the barn and looks up to find a new hole in the roof. We've gotten lots of time on tv which should help. Rob, Matt a nd I covered a lot of ground today in the area and had a great time enjoying a beautiful sunny day and visiting with all kinds of people. Dick Pugh is working hard on culminating eye witness reports in order to triangulate ground zero. So, if nobody comes forward with the first stone from a hole in their roof like in Park forest last year, then we'll rely on triagulation to continue the hunt. If we find a few stones then it will be fun to see all of you show up to find more. So far, nothing found but one whopper of a bolide for Adam's birthday! Cheers, E.T. Thanks again for lunch Rob! -- reach me: edwinthompson_at_attbi.com ______________________________________________ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-listReceived on Fri 04 Jun 2004 06:49:52 PM PDT |
