Under the most liberal of uses, it would involve all the Native Americans in what are now the United States, though not all in Mexico, as several cultures there did have writing, though nearly every text was burned, seeing as how they were all considered to be meaningless gibberish written by heathens. Therefore, the Hopewell culture would certainly be "prehistoric." Best wishes, Michael on 6/1/04 4:08 PM, Martin Altmann at Altmann_at_Meteorite-Martin.de wrote: > 50 B.C. to 500 A.D is "prehistoric"??? > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ron Baalke" <baalke_at_zagami.jpl.nasa.gov> > To: "Meteorite Mailing List" <meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com> > Sent: Wednesday, June 02, 2004 1:00 AM > Subject: [meteorite-list] Archaeologist Finds Brenham Meteorite > AmongArtificats from the Hopewell People > > >> >> >> http://www.dodgeglobe.com/stories/060104/sta_0601040015.shtml >> >> Archaeologist searches for artifacts from the Hopewell people >> Dodge City Daily Globe (Kansas) >> June 1, 2004 >> >> Wichita archaeologist Jim Dougherty is on a treasure hunt. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country." - Hermann Goering -- When Jesus said "Love your enemies" I think he probably meant don't kill them.
