Make two or more photocopies of your owners manual and keep them in two different file folders. Then put the original in a good ziplock bag and tuck it away safely in your case with the camera. A lost instruction manual is a real pain to replace. The "different lighting conditions" you're referring to is called "white balance" and is available in most digital cameras these days. Different lighting sources have different color temperatures. Basically, regular household bulbs (incandescent light) give a yellow cast to pictures. Sunlight produces a blue cast and fluorescent tubes a green cast. If you set your white balance to "incandescent" (which is generally an icon of a light bulb) make sure you close the blinds or drapes in the room. Any light coming in from a window will add blue coloration to your image. Of course, you can always correct the problems in PhotoShop or PaintShop Pro;-) If you need more help, call me at home.
