Seen Over Ottawa Kris Sims 580 CFRA - News Talk Radio (Canada) April 6, 2004 Several residents of the Ottawa area reported seeing an Unidentified Flying Object Monday Night. One caller to CFRA 580 said it was a large, bright, white ball of light that travelled northeast at around 8 o'clock. Denis Legault has been sky-watching for 27 years with the Ottawa Valley Astronomy Group, he says the object was probably a piece of space rock that was too large to burn up right away in the upper atmosphere. Legault says the particles of dust and rock create a brilliant flash of light as they ignite and disintegrate in the lower atmosphere. Ottawa ranks second in Canada for the number of UFOs reported each year. Vancouver reports the most. Received on Fri 16 Apr 2004 12:45:03 PM PDT |
