Much is mine and much is from a friend that lent some huge samples (5kg and 2 kg sizes) for meteorite talks. Also have about 20 slices. The pictures you show do not look like any of my 869. Granted this meteorite has a vary diverse matrix yours still look more type 3 than the stuff I have. Perhaps you were just lucky with the piece because, I believe, some people have classified 869 as L3-L6 brecciated. Your crust also looks much blacker than any of my pieces. Whatever you have it is very nice. Congratulations! tett Owen Sound, Ontario ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom aka James Knudson" <knudson911_at_frontiernet.net> To: <meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com> Sent: Friday, April 02, 2004 4:31 PM Subject: [meteorite-list] Check this 869 out!!! > Hello List, I still have to wonder if this is right, this 114g NWA 869 seems > too nice! Please take a look, Dean only saw the second pic and said it does > look like NWA 869, a nice one. It shows Brecciation > like NWA 869, one nice meteorite what ever it is!
