It has some reasonably flat sides in an almost = irregular cube shape. It was found 18 inches underground and in the = middle of nowhere. I have seen a few stony meteorites which have similar = shapes, but my question is 'can irons have a fairly cubed-type shape = too?' Also, does anyone know how the density of mesosiderites compares with = irons and can mesos also go quite rusty when old and weathered? Any = thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff ------=_NextPart_000_0011_01C3B2DB.7DA604C0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2600.0" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=3D2>G'day List,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2>I have just received a specimen from a prospector = which=20 obviously has a very high iron content (probably completely) and is not = hematite=20 or anything like that.
