We were tempted to call a hazmat team but decided to deal with the problem ourselves. We didn't have gas masks so we had to reenter the shop with wet towels over our faces, put the bucket outside and open the windows. Once we felt it was safe to go near the bucket we dumped out the contents on the driveway and hosed everything down. What we found was that this stuff not only removed the calcite but also etched the meteorites from the outside and ate a large hole in the driveway. Now I don't feel quite so wussy for asking advice on how best to dispose of some nitric a couple of weeks ago.....;-) Gregory -------------------------------1068269386 Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <HTML><HEAD> <META charset=3DUTF-8 http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; charse= t=3Dutf-8"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2800.1264" name=3DGENERATOR></HEAD> <BODY style=3D"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #fffff= f"> <DIV> <DIV> <DIV> <A href=3D"mailto:adamhupe_at_comcast.net">adamhupe@comcast.net</A>=20= writes:</DIV> <BLOCKQUOTE style=3D"PADDING-LEFT: 5px; MARGIN-LEFT: 5px; BORDER-LEFT: blue=20= 2px solid"><FONT face=3DArial>The bucket started to bubble (or boil, we are=20= not sure) and a<BR>noxious brown cloud that smelt like rotten eggs permeated= our shop gagging<BR>everybody present.
