Hi Howard and List,

On the subject of R5s (and who did their classifications), the 77-grams
listed for
NWA 1585 (R5, S2, W1, Fa 38.8, Fs 32.4) was classified by M. Zolensky at
JSC.
It only lists one piece, which of course is not consistent with the
26.5-gram TKW
figure that you say Dean quoted you. Furthermore, the type specimen mass is
listed as 15 grams; did Dean really donate more than half the stone to the
Smithsonian?

As for the 710-gram NWA 1668 (R5, Fa 38.9, Fs 30.2) purchased at the Denver
show, it was classified by A. Irving at University of Washington. Shock and
weathering are not mentioned for this meteorite in MB #87.

As Chauncey Walden pointed out, there is also the 184-gram NWA 1784
(R4/5, S1, W3, Fa 40) classified by M. Bourot-Denise at MNHNP (Paris).
