An 18-by-18-inch piece of space rock -- dubbed the "Home
Plate Meteorite" because that's what it looks like -- is
expected to fetch $65,000 to $80,000 at auction this Sunday. It
fell in a meteorite shower 1,000 years ago in Chile.

Owner Darryl Pitt of New York City told Sports Illustrated he
hopes a big- league team enters the bidding. "The Houston
Astros would be a natural."
