First if it was a good customer who wasn't happy with items I sold him, mainly price wise I would consider a refund figuring I could do future business with this customer later. I don't know of any sell that is so important that I couldn't work with a customer. In the arena of dealers or want to be dealers :-) I think a deal is a deal. If they bought the material then I think they should follow through and not expect a refund. If they can buy cheaper now then let them buy cheaper and sell that material and hang on to the other. After a months time I think a refund due to price is not acceptable or fair to the seller. I remember when I was selling lunar specimens for $25,000 to $30,000 a gram and now the same material (after about a dozen or more lunar specimens have been found and are available on the market) can be bought for a mere fraction of that. Could make a dealer go bankrupt. Many people have bought into meteorites speculating a good return later. A risky thing to do in any market. Same for the Sikhote-Alins. I remember when they were a bargain at $3.00 a gram. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the buyer to know what he or she is buying. Unfortunately in this day of no one is responsible for their own actions one does have to have a written policy explaining their sell policies. I would weigh the replies here Steve and then do what you want to do. --AL Mitterling Mitterling Meteorites Received on Sat 28 Jun 2003 11:18:30 AM PDT |
