Olivine diogenites are quite fascinating under a = petrologic scope. I still have a hard time telling the difference = between orthopyroxene and olivine in thin-section. The olivine count of = ~50% was done with a microprobe at the University of Washington. Here is link that shows some fascinating images of NWA 1459 as well as = some data: http://www.lpi.usra.edu/meetings/lpsc2003/pdf/1502.pdf I hope you will find this interesting. All the best, Adam ----- Original Message -----=20 From: MARK BOSTICK=20 To: Adam Hupe ; Meteorite List=20 Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 10:50 PM Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Ad - Weekly Rare Material Hello Adam and list, Adam wrote: " I will take some images of the main mass and see if I = can point out some areas of interest in a few days." And perhaps some thin section photos? I am curious in how it looks = compared to diogenites, as my diogenite thin sections look like they = have lots of olivine in them. Mark PS: Any thin sections of it for sale? ------=_NextPart_000_0346_01C3363B.FACE4BA0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.00.2919.6307" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff=20 style=3D"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff; BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none; = BORDER-LEFT: medium none; BORDER-RIGHT: medium none; BORDER-TOP: medium = none; FONT: 10pt verdana"> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial>Hello Mark and List,</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial>It is funny that you mention thin-sections = because we were=20 thinking about making some.
