I do not know ANYTHING about meteorites. I don't know Campo from Gibeon from Tektite from ...... All I know is where this one was found. Several years ago I quit my job, bought a motorhome and decided to go see America while I was young. So, I did. For several months I travelled the backroads and byways of the US. During my journeys I made a stop at The "Smokey The Bear" National Park in California. While there I befriended an older gentleman, probably in his late 80's. We talked for quite a while. He had some very interesting stories. After I had shown him a small collection of odds and ends I'd gathered during my travels, we said our good-byes and he got in his old pick-up truck and left. I decided to stay in the area and camp overnight. A while later the old man returned to the area, found me, and gave me a gift. The gift he gave me was this meteorite. He wanted me to add the meteorite to my collection of other o! > dds and ends I'd gathered along my way. He told me exactly where he had found the meteorite many, many years earlier. He explained that it was exceptionally rare and was of high value. The meteorite came from the mountains near the Smokey The Bear Park in California. I eventually threw away all of my other Odds and Ends but decided to hang on to this meteorite. I've had it for several years now. After long consideration, I've decided to offer it for sale on EBAY. The meteorite measures about 3.75" at the widest point. The item weighs approximately 2 pounds and 13 ounces (290kg) The item is in an ALL ORIGINAL state. The item has not been cut or altered in any way. A magnet sticks to the item. Please EMAIL me with questions/comments/request for additional pictures before you bid.
