Date: Thu Apr 22 10:18:03 2004 Message-ID: <001001c3c946$1c53bf10$ccc3ea3e_at_HAL> Hello Dough and others, To make 'visible' what I mean with the argument that a fall in South Africa at 23h local time is impossible from the viewpoint of a Qudrantid orbit: I have posted the view of what part of the earth is 'in target' for particles coming in from the Quadrantid orbit at that moment at url: http://home.wanadoo.nl/marco.langbroek/quads.jpg As you can see, South Africa is nowhere in sight, it is well past the edge of the hemisphere in target. It will only start to emerge from behind the Earth's limb some 6 hours later and even then remains very close to the southern edge of the target hemisphere. The picture was made with 'Home Planet' by putting the observation point right above the location where the Quadrantid stream radiant (RA 230, dec +49.5) would be in the zenith at the time of the St. Mark's fall.
