[meteorite-list] Odd Rock - Is it...?? Pyrite Plus

Date: Thu Apr 22 10:17:39 2004 Message-ID: <009b01c3bc20$c9c8c7e0$1800a8c0_at_chupa> This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_009C_01C3BBF6.E0F2BFE0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I am telling you that if you access that posting, and you do not have a spyware blocker, then you will indeed get 2 spy Trojans loaded onto your machine. One is =93Avenue A=94 the other is an unknown, but because = of it=92s attempt to modify your registry, it gets blocked (if you have a blocker). Regardless of who put it on the site, either Geocities, or the page itself=85 it is there. There is no vacuum here. If you do not believe that, then check your machine out and you will most likely find that you have them as well. You should take this as a helpful suggestion, not as an insult. There are many ISP=92s out there that = will tack spyware onto public user web pages and Geocities is definitively one of them. That=92s the way it is. Complain to them. =20 BTW: The best spyware program out there, free, and the =93original=94 = is SPYBOT. It also immunizes against 600 or more known spyware programs and has an auto-update mode. =20 Available at: http://www.safer-networking.org/ =20 CharlyV -----Original Message----- From: meteorite-list-admin_at_meteoritecentral.com [mailto:meteorite-list-admin_at_meteoritecentral.com] On Behalf Of MexicoDoug_at_aol.com Sent: Saturday, December 06, 2003 1:50 AM To: cviau_at_beld.net; meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Odd Rock - Is it...?? Pyrite Plus =20 Charly, What are you talking about, regarding spyware? =20 I just signed up for the free geocities site to upload those photos about a week ago, and I am pleased to finally be a list member. Never expected conspiracy theories or insulting flames about the stones I am interested in to result from a virgin posting. =20 I don't think Yahoo! Geocities put "spyware" in that site, and I absolutely did not, so kindly be clearer about what you are saying, in your absolutely unsubstantiated public "bogus" alert for my interesting mineral found two weeks ago. Perhaps you contracted your spyware somewhere else, or maybe there are little green men in my private computer...which would be nice, but I strongly doubt. Hence, explain yourself, please, rather than sounding off in a vacuum!
