Dear Dirk, Dan, John and List Members,

I agree with the fact that the meteorite was not hot enough or traveling
anywhere near the velocity needed to create tektites. If it were there would
be no more Park Forest to talk about, just a crater. We only compared the
shapes to tektites. We know they did not come from the shingles because
they are too clean, there is no adhesive or tar sticking to them. Some of
the structures observed are too fragile to have been integrated into a
shingle.

All of the shapes observed suggest these were quenched very quickly while
they were in motion. How else could dumbbell, teardrop, ball, patties with
sunken centers and bars be created? We do not know, that is why we are
exploring the origin of these odd objects. To prove an extraterrestrial
origin will require O-isotope testing which will be underway soon.

As far as magnetism goes we do not know because we did not want to
contaminate them by introducing them to foreign metal. We turned them over
to two different laboratories for testing.

I hope this helps,

All the best,

Adam and Greg Hupe
