We have now had 3 very potential ones in last 10 months, and still trying to find something from these during the next summer. We have a quite large area with few people, lots of lakes and woods, long winter with a lot of snow and all that kind of things, so this is one reason, but also, people here may have meteorites and they don´t know that, so one problem is to get older material to the day-light and analyzed. The worst case was Varpaisjärvi in1913. 1 and a half kilo was founded by a farmer, a local priest got a small fragment, and the material was analyzed as a meteorite. The farmer wanted to keep the main mass, and after he died, the stone was thrown out by the new owners of the house, and this is the last thing we know about this main mass...;- So, the point is, there might be some truth in the old stories and they may be worth to check some times... pekka MARK BOSTICK wrote: > Hello List, > > > > Ken Newton wrote: > > > > I can't find any falls in Spain in 1913. > Do you think this is a hoax? > > > > I believe it is likely a hoax.
