But, perhaps to offer consolation, Gaya draped the Chicago landscape with a blanket of snow, making the hunt impossible. A quick call to Steve Witt to deliver Roman's calendars and we met at the Holiday Inn. We were invited to breakfast with Steve, Rob Elliot, and Gregory. It came to light there that Gregory paid for last night's meal and Rob wanted to cover this one. He would not accept refusal. We had a quiet meal and said our goodbyes yet again. As Dave and I made our way to the highway, we spotted Steve's car, he was taking Rob to Ohare so we followed them in, thankful that we didn't need to fumble with the map. Home at last, 1800 miles away from Wonderland, I get back to the daily grind again. What did I get out of this? Far more than I put in. I have always put off Tucson saying to myself that for the cost of that trip I could add a nice meteorite to the collection and that's what I did every February. I didn't know what I was missing. This community, this list, we are all equals. We are hunting for the same answers, sharing the same passion. There are those that make money by it and those that spend money by it but we are all equals. The warm welcome we received was beyond anything I expected to encounter, open arms, genuine comradery. The dealer side is definitely different from the collector side but when the two meet, there are no boundaries. This list will bicker, it is the nature of competition, but it is not, nor will it ever be, broken. We realize our commonality as different as we all are. We look up by night, down by day, and eye to eye in between. A final congratulations to Steve Witt. The keys to the kingdom are yours my friend, your strewnfield is free of competition. Enjoy your lucky stars. A final word of thanks to Rob Elliot. You are a gentlemen in every sense of the word. Your generosity as both a dealer and a man are unequalled. A final word to the list. Get to Tucson, there are riches beyond the cabinets, the collection. Riches to satiate desires both subtle and gross. I will post pictures after I catch up with the 268 emails waiting to be read. I have two very micro micros of the Garza stone that will hit eBay tonight starting at $1. I believe Rob Elliot will have some for sale as well in the very near future. -- Rob Wesel ------------------ We are the music makers...and we are the dreamers of the dreams.
