But first of all I want to thanks Sterling for the good information he sent about the Meteorites from Outside solar system and James TOM for telling me that my account was working¡¡..Thanks to all¡¡¡..Here is my entry: I was in a small town and I took my Canyon Diablo, when I showed it to a man selling rocks in his shop, I said: "Hi, this is a meteorite, do you have anything like this?"...to my surprise he was very calmed and as if meteorites were very common, he said: "Yes of course, I have a big one in my backyard, like several kilos". Of course I went into his backyard just to find out that he had a huge rock of hematite or magnetite...I spent the next minutes trying to explain him that that was not a meteorite, but for him its still a meteorite. Later on I was in my school and I had my Gao with mw so I went with my Chemestry teacher to show him the meteorite. I told him: "Hey this is a very good meteorite that I bought, with fusion crust"...he looked at it very careful and said: "They robbed you, this is not a meteorite, a meteorite is always round and heavy"...He showed several pieces of hematite and said "this are true meteorites that I bought in the place where they fell". Since then Ive been trying to explain him what a real meteorite looks like, but he doesnt pay attention to me...Again some people have been fooled with hematite¡¡¡¡¡¡¡, both persons still think they have the true meteorites. Thanks and Bye¡¡¡¡ =0) Rafael B. When they arrived they rented the last camel Avis rent a camel had. They road through the desert all day and only found one small stone, I believe it was an ordinary chondrite probably an L-5. When night time fell, they set up their camp. When they woke up the next day they were surrounded by sleeping Nomads and hundreds of camels. Wanting an early start they set off to find their camel, but all the camels looked the same! One of the collectors said I know, our camel is different than the rest of the camels and started to walk along and lift all of the camels tails. The other collector asked " what are you doing"? The first collector responded; Yesterday when we passed some Nomads I heard on of them say " look at the two A_ _ - holes on that camel!<BR><BR><BR>Tom</P> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV></div><br clear=all><hr>MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: <a href='http://g.msn.com/1HM1ENUS/c156??PI=44364'>Click Here</a><br></html> ______________________________________________ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list ------=_NextPart_000_46d1_601d_253d-- Received on Fri 20 Sep 2002 02:43:48 PM PDT |
