Michael and all,

The Baringers were not the problem, and they were
graceous enough to at least consider my searching
around the crater itself.. but only on the two square
miles that they control.. and that was not within the
scope of my project objective which was to collect and
document with exact location data specimens at a
distance no closer than 3.5 miles. Heat altered irons
was not the objective, instead my project objective
was to gather unaltered irons in order to resolve
several questions.

1) the relationship between Nininger's Type I, II, and
II Canyond Diablo irons.

2) the distribution and nature of silcate and graphite
nodules often found in the outlying areas at distances
greater than 3.5 miles from the crater rim.

3) the possibility of finding silicates that are
related to the Winona meteorite. Wasson and others
think as do I that Winona is related to the impactor
that created "Meteor Crater."

These objectives were to be met by collecting
specimens of known location, leaving nothing including
oxides out, at a distance no closer than 3.5 miles
from the crater rim and involving 20 sections of land
situated 360 deg around the crater proper. About 20
samples with target weights of .5 kg and above were to
be collected from each section. Such a collection
would involve many hundreds, if not thousands of miles
of walking over a period of 7 to 10 years.

Briefly that was the overall scope of the project.
>From what I understand the Barringers had no problem
with it... but from what I also understand they have
no control over Bar-T-Bar lands, upon which the
objectives of my project would have to be met.

There is some kind of relationship between Bar-T-Bar
and Meteor Crater Enterproses...

But for the likes of me, and I have been looking at it
and dealing with it.. I still have no idea what it is.

I have been told that they are separate, but they
don't seem to work that way.
