The co-ordinates recorded in the waypoint taken from my GPS are: 23° 55.652' S 68° 15.677' W There is a relativel new set of power lines with a service road that follows them. We followed this road back toward the direction of Imilac. The crater was about 1/2 mile off the road. I suspect that this set of power lines, and it's service road, leads all the way to Imilac as there are power lines there also and they look to be the same age of construction Jim Strope 421 Fourth Street Glen Dale, WV 26038 Catch a Falling Star Meteorites http://www.catchafallingstar.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bernd Pauli HD" <bernd.pauli_at_lehrer.uni-karlsruhe.de> To: "dean bessey" <deanbessey_at_hotmail.com> Cc: <meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com> Sent: Friday, October 04, 2002 10:54 AM Subject: [meteorite-list] Monturaqui Coordinates > dean bessey wrote: > > > can somebody please supple me with the gps > > coordinates to monturaqui crater in chile > > No GPS but maybe still good enough: > > 23° 57' S > 68° 17' W > > 3100 meters above sea level > > Crater diameter: 360-380 meters > Crater depth: 21 - 39 meters, > > Cheers, > > Bernd > > ______________________________________________ > Meteorite-list mailing list > Meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com > http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list > Received on Fri 04 Oct 2002 11:28:21 AM PDT |
