For sale is the main mass of HaH173, L6 (S5/W1), 16.7 kg, at $2000. That's just $0.12/g (!), and I'm sure it will be hard to find such a low price for ANY unclassified NWA find, especially not for such a fresh and interesting one. Have a look at the main mass: http://www.timewarp.de/HaH173/HaH173-16.7kg.JPG Okay, it's covered with a layer of calcite and sand, and it doesn't look like a beauty on the outside. To convince you of the quality and freshness of this meteorite, I've cut some small pieces off the main mass. Look at two of these samples: http://www.timewarp.de/HaH173/HaH173-a.JPG http://www.timewarp.de/HaH173/HaH173-b.JPG The latter slice shows a black shock-vein on the right and a nice large chondrule. Doesn't the matrix of this meteorite look as fresh as the matrix in some L6 falls? I've cut slices from smaller framents of HaH173 that show a more extensive weathering. However, I'll show you two pictures that might convince you of the nice interior of this meteorite. Have a look at this slice, displaying a huge chondrule (diameter ~8mm!!) and a large troilite inclusion: http://www.timewarp.de/HaH173/HaH173-28.45a.JPG http://www.timewarp.de/HaH173/HaH173-28.45b.JPG Now imagine what a full slice of the fresh main mass, criss-crossed with shock-veins, might look like! You get the 16.7kg mass at $2000, below NWA prices, exclusive shipping - first come, first served! Payment via bank wire transfer prefered, PayPal possible. Please contact me off-list for further information. Best, Norbert Classen IMCA #7606 PS: Before I forget it, I've another NICE piece for sale, a huge slice of the first Saharan lunar, DaG262. It weighs 17.17g, has one crusted edge, and measures 45x35x5mm. Have a look: http://www.timewarp.de/lunar/DaG262-17.17a.JPG The price? Please contact me off-list if interested. I'm accepting reasonable offers, too. Dealers welcome! Received on Thu 16 May 2002 08:52:32 AM PDT |
