Moore with the Center for Meteorite Studies at Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona. He has been working there in the field of meteoritics and chemistry for over forty years and has patiently helped hundreds of people learn more about how to identify meteorites. An interesting side note for those of us who attend the meteorite parties during the Tucson Show is the fact that Dr. Moore was among the sixty guests who attended the "opening party" celebrating the arrival and first cutting of the Bondoc mesosiderite in Arizona. That party was held in 1962 at the American Meteorite Museum in Sedona, Arizona and hosted by Harvey and Addie Nininger. The end piece of Bondoc was carried back to the laboratory in Tempe (ASU) by Carleton Moore personally. Where were you in 62? For more information about Dr. Carleton B. Moore, follow this link. <http://www.asu.edu/clas/chemistry/faculty/cmoore.htm > Regards, John Gwilliam John Gwilliam Meteorites PO Box 26854 Tempe AZ 85285 http://www.meteoriteimpact.com Received on Fri 15 Mar 2002 12:52:18 PM PST |
