FYI: Bill Nye is a scientist and former graduate student of Carl Sagan.

Bill Nye, like his mentor, is often criticized for being more entertaining
and showy even though his medium is science. When Sagan started his TV
series on astronomy, many astronomers resented his flashy presentation of
their domain to the public even though Sagan did a great service to there
field.

I went to one of Bill Nye's presentations at a science teachers convention
and was even more impressed with him as an educator than when watching his
videos. That guy is good!

If NASA is going to put a teacher in space, my vote goes to Bill Nye (even
though the next TIS (teacher in space) is to be from Idaho).
