On the weekend I bought a few pieces of Gibeon, from a guy who had been in Namibia (I'm in SA so it's close). These are bits straight out of the ground. One has a sharp blade of metal coming off it, like it has been ripped. Nothing like a nice neat stone. Is the idea of the meteorite exploding into pieces common? And will it react in the same way as a chunk of iron?
