Hi everyone,

On this issue of Brahin as a ruster, I know about the so-called =
stability of the 'new' dry Brahins, just like the stability of the 'new' =
Campo's. =20

My personal experience is very guarded. I've had to retreat my Brahin =
full slice 10" platter two times in 6 years (thanks, Bob Haag for =
excellent service and results!) and a 'new' Brahin specimen I've =
acquired has started to show a tendency to dissolute... but I was more =
cavalier with this second 'new' specimen, given my tropical and salty =
climate here in Honolulu. I know the dealers have a stake in having a =
low-cost stable pallasite to offer... Also, any comments from those =
that have tried to stabilize an unstable Brahin, perhaps w/ a NaOH =
bathe, etc?? Sheath?? Krylon??

Joseph
Honolulu

I see you had to wait until school was out until you answered my =
questions. You still did not address how your definition of legit =
meteorites relates to Lafayette which clearly does not fit according to =
your definition.

CR2 did not fall in price over a few days as you stated. It took a =
year and the NWA CR2 was never $300- per gram.

Anyone who pays $4 to $5 per gram for Brahim is just asking for =
trouble with this ruster. And those who follow your advice to buy it and =
hold it for the future will find that the future holds nothing but a =
pile of rust and olivine crystals. Same with Brenham. There are a few =
execptions depending on the sample but I would not want to make the bet.
