[meteorite-list] Falls, finds, Mohave desert

Date: Thu Apr 22 09:55:39 2004 Message-ID: <3C3384B3.91BB0185_at_dri.edu> Dear All The Mojave Desert comprises parts of four states (Calif., Nevada, Utah, and Arizona) with more than half located in California. Sometimes, one refers to the Mojave Desert as being that part which is located just in California but most of the time we refer to its entire geography. Now, I'm sure that Sam is just interested in the desert known as "Mojave", but most tourists or even meteorite hunters might not be able to distinguish it from the contiguous parts of adjoining deserts including the Great Basin and the Sonora Deserts.
