Who did it, and what specifically was found about ALH8001, and the initial energy state of the solar system/universe? or what did you expect to find? Unfortunately, I expect that many meteorite hunters will continue to use the magnet as a base test for determing whether a suspect rock is a meteorite. It's cheap, easy, and saves time and effort if you have to decide whether a rock is worth packing out of an inacessible location.
