Here is the english abstract <<A RAINFALL OF TEKTITES IN NIZHIJ NOVGOROD REGION IN WINTER 1996/1997, by Dmitriev E.V. Prezented is data concerning the area of dispersed glasses that, investigation showed, are tektites of unusual composition discovered in Nizhij Novgorod region the rainfall in Winter 1996/1977. The appearance of most past of the fragments look like a result of thermal fragmentation of the meteoroid and subsequent mutual collisions. They are solidified pieces of a melt stream and heir origin can be explained be the hypothesis of fulgurie non-Earth origin of tektites. For the first time the area of tektites dispersion was found in Russia and for the first time in world the time of tektites rainfall was recorded.>> The article is in Russian, here. http://www.meteorite.narod.ru/proba/kommet/NNtext.htm Ever heard of this? The article has some chemical analyses of the 'tektite glass,' and one looks really artificial -- high silica and sodium, but almost not aluminum. The other looks maybe reasonable.
