Dear Listees;
I suppose I could offer up another deluxe meteorwrong....
2.87 billion year old banded iron meteorwrong...magnet sticks to it, 40%
iron...
has a nice story...imagine a horse corral in the old west, the rusty
iron crust on a puddle of horse urine has sort of a metallic sheen to
it, anaerobic bacteria manufacturing iron to protect itself from the
oxygen in our atmosphere...back 2.87 years ago the same anaerobic bugs
were making iron to protect themselves from our rapidly changing
atmosphere that was becoming enriched in oxygen...
We will never visit an equine enclosure and be the same!
Best Saturday,
Dave F.
