Hello Bill, Gabriel and list,

Well said Bill. Gabriel if you are really interested in meteorites you s=
hould follow Bill's advise. I think most of us were choking while we rea=
d your e-mail. (That's putting it nicely.)

Dear Gabriel,
I am a bit astonished at your approach to obtaining this one believed=
to be meteorite. All of your approaches seem not well throughout. How ab=
out being honest? You are thinking only of the money that it might bring=
you...you are not thinking of the consequences of your actions. Find an =
expert in Meteorites we do have one in this origination who lives in Afri=
ca I believe.
If you can get the $$$$ as the only reward out of your head, you coul=
d approach the owner and tell him that you have an expert who you are ass=
ociated that could verify the stone as a meteorite or a meteorwrong. It t=
hen could be cut and shared with museums in Africa. And as a reward you'd=
like to have a few slabs as your reward for finding and identifying the =
mystery rock. If it is not a meteorite you are still free to continue you=
r search another day. I think honesty is the only way to grow.

Subject: [meteorite-list] Meteorite samples

Greetings list

I have a few problems and my first problem is that I have a box
with 9 samples ready to send but I don't know where because
we here in South Africa have almost no experts in meteorites
and they will just confiscate everything meteoric in my mineral
collection if they found out about it.So the only option open
to me is to send the samples overseas to an expert there
for verification, so can anybody please help me in this regard.

I need some advice on another small problem that face me:
close to where I live there is this regmaglyphed stone of at
least 40 kg but the problem is it is lying right in front of =20
somebody's gate post and there is a business next door who =20
has a security guard who is a real pain in the ass and has =20
already chased me on my first atempt to get the stone.
The stone itself is not that big and I can lift a equivalent =20
piece of granite without problems but this one is just to
heavy to make a quick getaway with.
The options open to me is:

(1)Bribe the guard to help me
(2)Wait for the gaurd to go to sleep and perform the raid
(3)Aproach the owner of the stone an try to persuade him
    to give it to me.

There is something else, on saturday I found something
amazing: A FULLY ORIENTED stone with deep thumbprints
on the one face and clearly visible flow lines in all other =20
surfaces. The crust is smooth exept for the ripples and flow
lines and is chocolate brown in color. there was a piece that
broke of recently revieling that it is some kind of basalt that
I have never seen before and it is totally non-magnetic and
even a rare earth magnet won't move a millimetre towards
this stone.I found it on a place where they dump building
rubble and also the ground that the excavate fo the foundations
of new buildings. sample #4 also come from the same place
and I will include a sample of my new find as soon as I can
figure out a way to remove a piece without maring the =20
beauty of this stone. It will be sample #9. =20

Goodby and thanks
