Many list-members, myself included, danced a long, complicated email-waltz with this guy (actually, his daughter, if I remember correctly) several years ago. He found a reeeeal, jen-u-wine Mars meteorite with a cute li'l Martian spider in it (appropriately if unimaginatively named "Spidey") and he was also selling "actual silverware" from the house near where this "meteorite" was found. $75 per fork, I think. He's actually very sincere, in the sense that he really does believe his own hype. He's convinced that the reason his "find" hasn't gained scientific and public acceptance is due to a "vast, scientist-wide conspiracy", rather than the possibility that he might just have a rock and a dead bug.
