The international conference Cometary Dust in Astrophysics will bring together researchers from these fields in an international meeting in August of 2003, four months prior to cometary encounter. The purpose of the meeting will be the integration of astrophysical observations of comets and cosmic dust with laboratory analyses of interplanetary dust, stardust and meteorites. Special emphasis will be given to discussing the expected scienfific impact of returned comet samples. The meeting will include a mixture of invited and contributed talks. Potential Topics Inlude The nature, origin, and evolution of organic matter in the ISM and comets The origin of crystalline silicates in comets The lifecycle of interstellar dust Interstellar dust and organic compounds in interplanetary dust, meteorites, and comets Location and Date: Crystal Mountain, Washington State, USA August 10-14, 2003 Further Information: stardust.wustl.edu/CDA.html Scientific Organizing Committee Donald Brownlee John Bradley Lindsay Keller Martha Hanner Scott Messenger Scott Sanford Rens Waters Robert Walker Received on Sun 25 Aug 2002 01:21:07 AM PDT |
