Hello Frank and Dean,

I'm in total agreement with what you are suggesting,
Frank, but Dean explained in an earlier post that,
lately, he is unable to get provisional NWA numbers,
in time, before he sells his specimens. Although I'm
sure that this is a temporary problem, which will soon
be rectified, I would like to suggest an equally
temporary solution for Dean's problem. Basically, I
recommend that Dean do what Matteo did with his new
NWAs. Matteo assigned a "collection number" to each
of his NWA stones and when he finally received
provisional NWA numbers from Jutta, he then posted a
cross-reference web page on his web site.

Minimally, Dean should assign a "Bessy number" to each
of the stones that he has imaged on his "newdarknwa"
web page.
At some later date he can then post a
"cross-reference" web page on his web site. This will
allow for traceability by the NomComm and will give
the owner a sense of pedigree for his stone.

I'll not bother to list the "down-sides" to my
suggestion, at this time. I'll leave that for others
to do for me.

Bob V.

Hello Dean,

Very very nice stones; if I had any extra money that
wasn't already
committed I'd pick one up.
I understand the trouble and effort it is to get NWA's
classified, but I'd
recommend that you go at least to the trouble to get a
provisional number
from the nom. committee for these stones and pass that
number along to
everyone who buys one. Then the TKW and number of
stones, at least from
this batch, isn't lost. And when one of your buyers
does get their stone
classified, everyone who bought one, benefits (and
this group of rocks
doesn't get classified a half dozen times).
My 2 cents,
Frank
