It was about two and a half feet long, one feet to one foot and a half = wide and one to one and a half thick. Its weight was about 250 lbs. The = stone is crystalline but seems to be like ancient lava. The gray stone = is about as hard as rock crystal and has a slight salty odor. The stone = has a mich corrugated surface. The bolide in falling had broken the bars = of agate and penetrated the ground to the depth of three feet: = subsequent enquiry verified the fall of the meteorite as occuring at = 6:15 on the evening of Oct. 7th. The fall of the meteor or so-called = shooting-star was seen by several passers at that time. The stone was = still warm when found in the morning.
