We talked meteorites, obviously and drank lashings of beer just the way you Americans like it, at room temperature!!! And it tasted mighty fine too! Rob had some tremendous stuff with him, including a massive lump of an acapulcoite, weighing nearly 200g, and a huge and impressively sculptural Gibeon and masses of other stuff which I have never seen at such close quarters, like big beautiful F/C'd unclassified NWAs that were superb! Great fella he is! And the rumours of his alcohol consumption are completely false he assures me!! Very social it was and nice to eventually meet face-to-face a fellow meteoriticist!! I got some great pics too - if anyone is particularly interested I can mail 'em to you but they are quite large files so will consume some bandwidth! The weather in London was torrential rain (1inch in an hour) which meant that I got completely soaked and steamed and must have smelt like a pond-soaked sheepdog! For me, this was the longest journey I have been on since falling ill with the grotesque spectrum of ill-health that I have been bathed in since December last year! I must be getting better at long bloody last!! Thanks Rob!!! very best dave d. "I have a proof that x^n+y^n=z^n never has integer solutions for n>2. however, it won't fit into my signature file...."
