Made it back from the Denver show late sunday night. Me and my helper = for the weekend, my brother, had a lot of fun. It was nice to have a = break from the New York reports. =20 I was able to meet most of the dealers I have traded and purchased from = the last couple years. Robert Hagg was even found lurcking around the = 3rd floor of the Holiday Inn. Hagg seems to be a really nice guy and was = very positive spirited. =20 The Denver comets, Anne Black (Impactika), Fred, Mike Jensen (Jensen = Meteorites), Mike Farmer, Steve Arnold (MeteoriteBroker), Jim Strope, = Dean Bessey (The Meteorite Shop), Eduardo Jawerbaum (Meteorites.com, or = at least for the moment, hush hush), Eric Olson, Ginger Mayfield and = many others where there.=20 Missing was Michael Cottingham, Michael Blood and the Labenne's. Blood = and the Labenne's where plane stuck for lack of better term. =20 Sales in Denver seemed to be low and it was a buyers marker. I brought = back a lot of stuff. Okay I brought back a LOT of stuff. For those = that follow my eBay auctions you will see a lot of this being listed the = next couple months. I will also follow Cottingham's example and will be = listing several items for the Auctions for America program on eBay. I = also challege fellow dealers to do the same and ask that others support = these auctions. Payments are billpoint only but it insures that all = funds go directly to the cause. =20 I would like to thank Anne Black for her hard work to make the week was = a success. Those that attended Denver know she put a lot of time in the = different activities. =20 A salute goes out to our New York listees that were unable to attend the = show and so have spent the last week helping out where needed. Geoff, = your pichures and storys have touched us all. =20 I have a lot of photos I will probley soon post and have been working on = my review of the Denver shows along with the first (annuel?) "Denver = 2001 Meteorite Awards". More to come.....I have to find out if I can = post it here.... Thanks again to everybody and I look foward to seeing you all again in = Denver. =20 About the time I post this it will almost exactly a week from the = attacks. Our nation is just now getting ack to "normal". It is grest = to see the many charities popping up to help the families hurt the most. = Every charity I have seem has promised all funds wil go to the cause. = The firefighters here in Wichita, Kansas raised over haft a million in = just one day. Flags are still impossible to find as suddenly our nation = is patriotic. With this attack we have had stories of hope. Stories = that made us cry. Stories that made us smile. Scene's we will never = forget. Feelings of love and feelings of hate. Baseball opened yesteday as again we try to heal ourselves. Many = players wore flags on their uniforms and even in Canada they saluted the = American flag. The American flag is an unusal symbol. Sometimes we = hate it. Sometimes we have burned it outselves. But like in New York = where a flag now hangs over ground zero. When things go bad some = stubborn person not willing to give in, raises the flag. We've seen in = on many battlefields int he past and now scattered around the country. =20 I reflect on the passengers that voted to overtake the terrorists in one = plane and doing so might have saved the White House and other lives. In = a time of great crisis they VOTED to fight and doing so they saved = lives.
