The problem, again, is IDENTIFYING what you see. Especially when the test for an iron meteorite is "does it respond to a magnet" and meteorites from Eros probably don't. Mars soil is supposed to have ~20% iron content. Perhaps most of the "red dust/soil" comes from the Northern Hemisphere above the dichotomy line. Leftovers from a BIG meteorite.
