But I agree that it would be very hard, if not impossible, to tell what fraction of a number that is nearly zero has been corroded. You can consider weathering grades less than 5 (where silicates get altered) of metal-poor meteorites to be basically useless numbers. jeff At 12:56 AM 5/17/2001, capricorn89 wrote: >In the Meteoritical Bulletin (Grossman) >DaG 276 Eucrite is listed as a W3 >HaH 193 (A Winonaite) also as a W3 (Winonaite's are close to my heart as I >have one on my website!) :=) > >Am I on track here? > >Ron Hartman >www.meteorite1.com > > >----- Original Message ----- >From: Robert Verish <bolidechaser_at_yahoo.com> >To: <SSachs9056_at_aol.com> >Cc: <meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com> >Sent: Wednesday, May 16, 2001 9:22 PM >Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Weathering Grade > > > > A researcher at UCLA told me that weathering grades > > only apply to chondrites with metal grains. > > > > --- SSachs9056_at_aol.com wrote: > > > Hi Bernd and list. > > > > > > Could you possibly give example meteorites and their > > > weathering grade?
