Thank you Jeff Grossman for resolving my question of "what is the altitude of
the highest meteorite ever recovered." I was never interested in this facet
of meteoritics until I began gathering my notes for a "Meteorite" feature
about the trip to Bolivia Blaine and I just completed. I don't have the
computer capability to quantify the data to calculate this and was hoping
that one of the m-list's resident geniuses (you know who you are!) could
solve this puzzle.

The (still waiting classification) stone we found in Bolivia was picked up at
"only" 3,749m/12,301'.
