``5 Years after Hale-Bopp: Progress in Cometary Science'' is intended to be
the follow-up of ``The First International Conference on Comet Hale-Bopp''
held in 1998. It represents a dedicated conference on comets and aims at
covering the progress in cometary science made since 1998. The conference
will consist of invited and contributed oral as well as contributed poster
presentations.

The tentative programme covers the following topics:

1) Hale-Bopp: What Makes A Big Comet Different?

2) Split Comets

3) Physical Properties of Cometary Nuclei

4) The Relationship between Coma Abundances (including ions) and Nuclear
Composition

5) Dust Observations and Models

6) What can we learn from Space Missions?

7) Origin and Dynamical Evolution of Comets

8) Round Table discussion: how can we best benefit from the new telescopes
and space observations?

Further information will soon be made available.
