This just in from a friend in the area regarding the supply of Gibeons:
"it is virtually drying up in Namibia with the exception of the odd
large one which crops up every so often. I think the output of gibeons
is now about 5% of what it was 2 years ago and many of the hunters are
stopping their searches since the cost of the batteries for the
detectors is costing more than they get from the pieces they find."
