Both shale and obsidian are chemically "crustal soups" and both are widely variable in composition. If this is what you meant I could say that we humans are similar to shale--especially the oil shales. Were you suggesting that shale could have been a target rock? Or were you speaking about meteoritic shale which is an entirely different substance? Sorry I guess I am asking in what respect do you consider shale to be similar to silica glass and to tektites?
