Here is that same quote, again, (from some writer for Sky & Telescope): "Dhofar 025 and 026 are brownish-gray amalgams of fused rock chips blasted out of the lunar highlands long ago. Weighing 751 and 148 grams, respectively, the two were found 20 km apart in early March. Although completely different in texture and composition, they lack fusion crusts and were found close together, so a single precursor can't be ruled out." My question is, Were they found close together, or were they found 20km apart? Sarcasm aside, determining pairings based upon proximity is risky business. Setting an arbitrary limit such as "within 20km is most likely paired" or "outside of 20km is not likely paired" is not all that helpful. We have a saying, among us field investigators here in the Mojave Desert, "Proximity is over-rated!" All I'll say is, the clutch is engaged - prepare yourself for a paradigm shift.
