[meteorite-list] Faster than a METEORITE; smaller than a SPECK...

Some while ago, there was a discussion of the diminishing size of samples of Martian meteorites offered for sale on eBay. It seemed that we were trying to arrive at a nomenclature for barely visible amounts or rare dusts. Nothing to sneeze at, if you didn't want your specimen to disappear altogether. Well, I think I've come across the ultimate in smallness for collecting extraterrestrial PARTICLES, or at least traces of their existence. I would recommend picking up a copy of TRACKS TO INNOVATION: NUCLEAR TRACKS IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY by Robert L. Fleischer, published by Springer 1998. Easy reading and contains lots of photos, 150 pages of fascinating information, and several references to tektites and meteorites. I can see it now on eBay: "Cosmic ray track of an argon ion. No reserve. Guaranteed genuine and extraterrestrial." "Or trade for a track of iron, calcium or titanium."
