   I thought i'd never say this but Casper isn't totally crazy. I have seen
and purchased meteorites for the prices he listed below. That's not to say
that they are selling that low in Tucson because i'm not out there. Below
Casper listed Mars meteorites as selling for $275g. I personally have seen
DAG 476 sell for $150g!! That's even lower than the price Casper quoted. I
agree with Matteo that the SNC market has gone to pot. A couple of years ago
SNC's were $2,500g+ with some selling for $100,000g. Now you can get some
for $150g. I predict that very soon we will be seeing Lunar material selling
for hundreds of dollars a gram instead of thousands a gram. From what i've
seen it's only the rare types that are taking a hit since their value is
based upon the amount of material on the market. Common types are unaffected
since their prices are already as low as possible. This is terrible for
collectors who have been around for a while and are sitting on large amounts
of rare types but i bet the newcomers are loving it!
