<< Sure is quiet on the list. Everybody must be in Tucson. How much longer
does Tucson last? It will be interesting

Most of the "regulars" are indeed here in Tucson, but it's winding down.
There is an enormous spectrum of available material - from cheap Saharans
for less than 20 cents/gram to new howardites-and-lunar-and-martian stuff for
considerably more. Michael Blood hosted an auction Saturday night, and
Darryl Pitt had one this (Sunday) morning, and lot of great pieces changed
hands (and a lot didn't). I arrived too late for the birthday bash, but
there has been a great deal of socializing, even amongst all those, uh,
"strong" list-personalities. For all the wrangling and passionate
disagreement that sometimes characterizes this list, when everyone gets
together with meteorites in common, there's a surprisingly strong sense of
camaraderie and a lot of fun. If you haven't been able to attend yet, it
only takes once - it'll positively become an annual trip, guaranteed.
